Microsoft has recently released a new ‘critical’ update for Windows Phone 8.1 with Update 1 which bumps the build to 14203. This new update for Developer Preview Program users include Battery Saver live tile and Battery Saver shortcut in action center. The recent update has also got the option to schedule when new updates are installed on your phone.
Microsoft has finally included the option, similar to Windows 8.1, which lets you select when new updates are installed on your phone automatically without asking for user permission. This option has been present in the Windows since the launch of Windows 7 but, Windows Phone is getting this feature now to schedule update installation.
So, if you want your phone to install all future updates automatically then, you are at right place. Simply follow the instructions below and you will be able to select when new updates are installed.
- First of all, you must be running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 with build 14203. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Phone Update’.
- Here you can select the ‘preferred install time’ on which new updates are installed automatically.
Note: If you haven’t selected the option to download new updates automatically then, you will be asked to download them but, their installation will be done automatically on the scheduled time.
- Now, when the update is ready to be installed, your phone will automatically start installing the update without your permission.
- That’s all! Enjoy new updates for Windows Phone without the need to manually install them.
