Windows 8.1 Update 2: Here are the new features to be included in it on August 12

We already know that Microsoft will be releasing an update for Windows 8.1 on August 12 which will be the second feature update for Windows 8.1. Named ‘Windows 8.1 Update 2’, this new update for Windows 8.1 will include a couple of new features.

Although, Windows 8.1 Update 2 won’t be as big as Windows 8.1 Update 1 which had a lot of new and exciting features but, Update 2 will fix some bugs and introduce few new features. Microsoft has revealed the features of Windows 8.1 Update 2 ahead of official launch.

Microsoft is adding very less features in this update that the software giant is saying it a regular Patch Tuesday update instead, of saying it Windows 8.1 Update 2.

Windows 8.1 Update 2 will have the following features:

  • TouchPad improvements: This setting will let you control whether the touchpad is kept on while you are using a mouse or the touchpad gets disabled automatically
  • Miracast receiver: Windows 8.1 Update 2 will also support additional API’s to make the supported PC a Miracast receiver. Miracast receiving will work over Wi-Fi network
  • Less login prompts for SharePoint: Windows 8.1 Update 2 will also reduce the login prompts while using SharePoint Online sites on your PC

Windows 8.1 Update 2 will be released for public on August 12, 2014 Patch Tuesday and will be available via Windows Updates. You will need to have the Windows 8.1 Update 1 to get these Update 2 features.
