WhatsApp, the popular messaging service now owned by Facebook recently started to roll out the voice calling feature to the Android users with Windows Phone and iOS users left behind. Now, the company has confirmed that the calling feature for Windows Phone devices is currently under works.
For those of you not familiar with WhatsApps’ calling feature, this service started as an internal invite-only beta on Android devices where users could call others using the WhatsApp services and no cellular calling rates were charged instead, you just had to use the internet connection. The service recently rolled out to all Android devices but, Windows Phone users were left behind.
Now, the company, in an official statement, has confirmed that the WhatsApp calling for Windows Phones in still in the works but, no timeframe for its roll out can be provided.
This will be a good news for Windows Phone users as we are occasionally left behind in the roll out of new services on popular apps but, this might not be the case for WhatsApp since, iOS devices also hasn’t got this feature.
The feature is in works but, it might take weeks for its public roll out to users but, its still good to have something than having nothing.
So, are you waiting for the WhatsApp calling feature to arrive on your Windows Phone?
