VLC beta for Windows Phone 8.1 picks up first update to fix audio issues while playing

VLC for Windows Phone 8.1 has finally picked up its first update which solves the audio issue where the audio was not playing with videos.

VLC for Windows Phone was launched last week but, the popular video player was not able to play the audio with videos due to some unexpected reasons.

Now, VideoLan has published the first update for VLC where no change log has been provided but, VLC’s team member has tweeted about the update being an audio fixing one. The update bumps the version of VLC beta to 2014.1208.1435.1366 – that’s the longest version number I have seen for an app. We can confirm that this update fixes the audio issue and the audio can also be heard while playing videos. We still weren’t able to play HD videos on our Lumia devices where audio can be heard but, video is all lagging.

The update for VLC is now available for download from Store and will be installed automatically. Otherwise, you may manually install the update by following the instructions in this article.
