Verizon users with Lumia 822 and 928 can get the Lumia Denim + Windows Phone 8.1 update starting today


Verizon, one of the top cellular networks in US and one of the Windows Phone provider has announced the Lumia Denim and Windows Phone 8.1 upgrades for Lumia 928 and Lumia 822.

Lumia 822 Verizon

Verizon will start rolling out the Lumia Denim update today for the Lumia 928, the Verizon variant of Lumia 920 and the Lumia 822, the Verizon variant of Lumia 820.

Both these devices are now over an year old but, Verizon seems to be upgrading these devices first to the latest firmware and OS versions. But, the Lumia Icon user with Verizon will be left drooling over Lumia Denim till early 2015 when the flagship by Nokia would get the latest firmware update.

Lumia Denim will bring a lot of awesome features to the Lumia devices including Lumia Camera 5 with rich recording and 4k video support. HDR mode would be added in the Lumia Denim firmware as well as the passive ‘Hey Cortana’ voice activation for the personal voice assistant, Cortana – will be available on selective high-end Lumia devices like Lumia Icon/930 and Lumia 1520.

Whereas, the Windows Phone 8.1 will bring the features like wallpapers for Start Screen live tiles, Live app folders to manage your apps on Start Screen, action center, all-news keyboard with swipe gestures and many more.

If you are holding a Lumia 822 or 928 with Verizon then, you might want to check out for the update by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘About phone’ and then, pressing the ‘Check for update’ button.
