Microsoft has started to update all the core apps of Windows 8.1 with new features and improvements. We have previously seen the updates for trio of Mail, People and Calendar apps as well as the Xbox Video app. Now, the Xbox Music app has got an update which adds new features to help in play back of music and some navigation improvements.

Update for Xbox Music app of Windows 8.1 brings ease in playback options

The change log of the Xbox Music app mentions the following changes:

  • Single tap shuffle option
  • Play songs with double-click/tap from library of Store
  • Songs from favorite artists can now be played directly from their details page
  • Explore option can now be used to discover songs in every genre
  • Buying songs is easier than ever
  • Microsoft Gift cards can also be redeemed

This update for Xbox Music is the first one after the public launch of Windows 8.1 on October 18, 2013. If the current wave of updates continues then, other pre-installed apps may also get updated soon.
