Store for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone surpasses 560,000 apps milestone

Windows Store on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone have been on the app-run where hundreds and thousands of apps are being added to the Store every day. Now, the latest statistics show that Windows Store has 560,000 apps available for users.

According to the statistics by the official Microsoft By the Numbers website, Windows Store has over 560,000 apps in Store combined for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone.

560,000 apps in Store means pretty good app inventory for users of both Windows on PC and mobile devices but, still, many important and official apps are missing. Also, hundreds and thousands of them are literally same apps with different names which becomes frustrating and even not good for Microsoft.

560,000 apps in Store might be helpful for Microsoft but, on the consumer side, this inventory is not helping unless Microsoft encourages developers to bring their apps to Windows platform instead of third party ones.

Currently, Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 apps are different and both have their own app Stores but, Microsoft seems to be aiming to merge both Stores together in Windows 10 where both will include same apps. 560,000 apps on Windows as well as Windows Phone 8.1 might be good enough for users after Windows 10 launch.

So, what are your favorite app(s) in Store?
