BlackBerry has updated the internal beta of BlackBerry Messenger for Windows Phone 8.1 with bug fixes and improvements. The private beta fixes some annoying bugs like avatars not appearing for contacts and emoticons problems etc.
Although, BlackBerry has released the public beta version of BBM on Windows Phone but, this hasn’t stopped the Canadian phone maker from updating its private beta version of Windows Phone. The update bumps the version of private BBM to 18.104.22.168 which means it hasn’t got any major changes.
The change log the BBM beta has the following things:
Fix for contacts losing their avatars
Fix for toast notification when signing in
Fix for slow appearance of contacts, chats and feeds while switching from another screen
Emoticons have been fixed
Many more improvements
BBM has also got a tweak in the name where it shows ‘BBM (Beta)’ instead of ‘BBM Beta’ which can be to make it distinctive from public version which was causing confusion if you have both of them installed.
The update for BBM Beta is now available in Windows Store and will be downloaded automatically. Otherwise, you may have to manually install the update.
