Phone Insider app on Windows Phone rebranded to Windows Insider for Windows 10 launch

Microsoft previously released the Phone Insider app on Windows Phone which aimed to provide the Windows 10 Preview update. Now, the app has been renamed to ‘Windows Insider’ which seems to be done in the preparation of Windows 10 on Phone launch.

Microsoft unveiled the Windows 10 in an event last week where many new features were showed for Windows 10 on desktop and Windows 10 on Phone. Microsoft is completely overhauling the Windows 10 on Phone experience with many awesome features (read more about features of Windows 10 on Phone here).

Microsoft announced that the Windows 10 on Phone will be released for public in February and now, the Phone Insider app has been renamed to Windows Insider which is similar to what can be found for desktop PC’s to download and provide feedback about Windows 10.

Now, the app rebranding seems to be the first step towards the release of Windows 10 on Phone. Other than the rebranding, the app also supports the sign in option of Microsoft account which will be used to enter the Windows Insider Program to download the Windows 10 Preview on Phones.

The app, once signed in, shows no build as available but, you do get the option to check the requirements and compatibility of your Windows Phone with Windows 10.

Microsoft seems to be gearing up for the launch of Windows 10 on Phones and with February just around the corner, the launch of Windows 10 on Phone might be imminent.

The update for Windows 10 on Phone is available for download from Store and will be installed automatically. Otherwise, you can manually download the update from the instructions in this link.
