Microsoft’s January 2015 Patch Tuesday for Windows 8.1/RT/10 includes minor updates – Direct download links!

The first Patch Tuesday by Microsoft for the year 2015 is here and the software giant has released a couple of security and cumulative updates. The updates are not much important and is small in size as compared to last month’s updates but, some security updates are included in it which might help keep you PC safe.

Microsoft has started the New Year by releasing small patches for the Windows 8.1 and Windows RT and one of them also include the vulnerability which was disclosed by Microsoft ahead of its patch and published online.

The updates are mostly available for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT devices but, a single update for Flash Player can also be applied to the Windows 10 Technical Preview builds.

The following updates are available for Windows 8.1:

KB2934520 for .NET Framework 4.5

This update for the .NET Framework 4.5 of Windows 8.1 is available which seems to be just an improvement update by Microsoft.

KB3024663 for Flash Player of Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

This update for pre-installed Flash Player of Internet Explorer 11 of Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Technical Preview fixes the security updates which were patched by Adobe in its latest update.

KB3004365 for Windows 8.1

This update fixes the security loop hole in the Windows Error Reporting of Windows 8.1 which could allow the hacker to bypass the security by running an exploit.

KB3019215 for Windows 8.1

This security update for Windows 8.1’s kernel mode driver could allow a hacker to gain elevated user privileges in a PC through a loop hole.

KB3019978 for Windows 8.1

This security update for the Windows 8.1 fixes a privately reported vulnerability in the TS WebProxy Windows Component where a hacker can gain elevated privileges by convincing the user to run specially crafted utility.

KB3021674 for Windows 8.1

This another security update for Windows 8.1 fixes the vulnerability in the Windows User Profile service which could allow a hacker to gain elevated user privileges.

KB3022777 for Windows 8.1

This update fixes the vulnerability in the Network Location Awareness service where a hacker could bypass the security feature.

KB3023266 for Windows 8.1

This update for Windows 8.1 could allow a hacker to gain elevated privileges by using the exploit in Windows Application Compatibility cache.

The above updated are recommended to be installed by users to keep their PC’s safe from any unwanted activity and hacker access.
