Microsoft launching its first ever Lumia Windows Phone without Nokia branding on November 11, 2014


We have already seen the official announcement that all future Lumia Windows Phones will carry the ‘Microsoft’ branding on front and back. We have also seen leaked images and specs of the first ever Microsoft branded Lumia and now, the software giant has revealed that the Lumia with Microsoft branding will be unveiled on November 11, 2014.

Microsoft branded Lumia

Microsoft acquired the Nokia hardware and devices division back in April 2014 and the part of agreement stated to use Microsoft branding on all future Lumia Windows Phones by Microsoft. Now, the software giant is gearing up to launch first ever device on its name. The blog post on the Nokia Conversations suggests that November 11 would be the day of ‘Microsoft’ branded Lumia unveiling.

Earlier leaked reports suggested that the first Lumia by Microsoft would be a low-end Windows Phone with the following specifications:

  • 5-inch screen with 720p resolution
  • 5MP camera on back
  • Front facing camera
  • 1.2GHz quad-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB ROM
  • Micro-SD card support upto 64GB
  • 1900mAh battery
  • 140.2×72.45×9.32mm in dimensions
  • 145.7 grams in weight
  • 3G supported
  • Dual-sim

This device would have product code RM-1090 whereas, it might be called Lumia 535 in general after its launch. Lumia 535 would be another entry-level Lumia and the successor of Lumia 520 and 535 which were launched in the last 18 months.
