Microsoft announced that Surface Pro would be launched for public on February 9, 2013 during an event in New York City but, now, the event has been cancelled due to the snowstorm which is expected to hit NYC on the same day.
Microsoft’s Surface Division Head, Panos Panay has tweeted that he won’t be able to see the tablet being sold at the New York City’s Union Square store.
Given the blizzard warning for NYC area I’m super bummed I won’t be able to be there to see the first #Surface Pros sold in Union Square.

Neowin also reports that Microsoft has confirmed that Surface Pro launch event has been cancelled due to the blizzard expected in New York City on February 9, the launch date of Surface Pro.
But, there is a good news too. Surface Pro would still be sold in the area on Best Buy as per the report by ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley.
Microsoft may have cancelled the launch event of the professional version of Surface tablet i.e. Surface Pro but, the devices will still go for sale on midnight. Microsoft will start selling Surface Pro on its Microsoft local and online Stores as well as other retailers like Staples and Best Buy in US & Canada.
