First ever Windows RT tablet by Nokia scheduled for September launch [Image]

Nokia, the Finnish mobile giant has been long rumored to be manufacturing a Windows 8 powered tablet since the launch of OS in October last year but, we haven’t seen an official announcement from Nokia. Now, another image has leaked showing a 10-inch tablet with the Nokia and Windows RT branding on its back.

Nokia Windows RT tablet

The image leaked by Chinese site Digiwo shows what seems to be a 10-inch tablet by Nokia. Although, the image only shows the back but, it reveals many things like Windows RT branding which means it would be running Windows RT, the version of Windows 8 designed for ARM devices to provide long battery performance.

The Verizon branding can also be seen on its back along which The Verge claims that it would be coming exclusively to Verizon and would also support 4G networks as the logo on the back mentions. It would also carry a 1080p resolution which would make it the first ever Windows RT tablet to get full HD resolution support.

The Verge also reports through sources that Nokia is scheduled to unveil a Windows tablet on September 26, 2013 and this could be that tablet. Also, it has been reported that it would be running the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor quad-core processor to help run the Windows RT and the tablet would be codenamed ‘Vanquish’.

Nokia may be preparing to unveil its first ever Windows RT tablet in September but, we expect it to be available for consumers around the public launch of Windows 8.1 on October 18. Windows 8.1 is the update for Windows 8 with many visual and under-the-hood changes to make Windows 8 even more-better and Nokia might opt to launch its tablet with that since, other Windows 8.1 devices will also be launching around the same time period.
