What date will Windows 8.1 ship? 8/1. Duh.
— Paul Thurrott (@thurrott) June 7, 2013
For those of you might be wondering, the date in the tweet is the US August 1st not, the European January 1 since, Thurrott belongs to America and Microsoft headquarters are also located in US.
Another thing to notice is the source which Thurrott mentioned to be a ‘little close to the matter’ which means that the August 1 launch date for final version of Windows 8.1 is suggested to be among the options for release date.
Windows 8.1 update for Windows 8 would be getting a lot of features like Start Button on desktop, more customizable Start Screen, new tile sizes along with new apps and many more. You can read the full feature list of Windows 8.1 here or you may watch the demo video by Microsoft highlighting most of the features.
