VideoLan has already released the private beta version of VLC for Windows Phone couple of weeks ago in Store where it was available for selective users who signed-up for beta. Now, the public beta version of VLC has been spotted in Store but, it doesn’t include any new features.
VLC is the popular video player app for mobile devices which can play .FLV, MKV, OGG and many more file formats along with couple of awesome playback features. Windows Phone version was launched a month ago in December and it was only available for people who got the chance to register in first few thousands private beta testers.
Now, the public beta downloadable from the link at the end of this article is available for everyone which means you don’t have to be a registered user to install it. It’s an early public beta version of VLC but, it doesn’t include any new features instead, it’s just a clone of private beta.
Since, VLC is still in beta don’t expect it to be fully-polished and completely free of bugs. But, for a beta version, VLC is pretty good in all functions.
It is to be noted that if you already have the VLC private beta installed then, you might see two different VLC’s in your app list; where one would be for VLC private beta and other one for public beta.
