BBM public beta for Windows Phone 8.1 sheds the ‘beta’ tag and fixes bugs


BlackBerry has just released an update for BBM for Windows Phone 8.1 which has finally shed the ‘beta’ tag and the update fixes some bugs and improves features. The update improves the BBM launch timing and language issues.


BBM released the public beta of Windows Phone 8.1 couple of weeks ago and now, the messenger has got the second update whereas, previous one was just minor bug fixing update. It seems that the public version has removed the ‘beta’ tag for Windows Phone 8.1.

The update bumps the BBM version to from which suggests that it is major update as compared to the previous one release last week.

The change log of the BBM has the following things mentioned:

  • Launch timing has been improved
  • The bug where Spanish users were seeing English has been fixes
  • Other bug fixes and improvements

The BBM Beta update is now available for download from Windows Store and will be installed automatically on your Windows Phone 8 device.
